about the artist

Robert Culicover was born in New York City. A graduate of the Bronx High School of Science, he studied art at the University of California, Berkeley (B.A., studio art) and San Francisco Art Institute (M.F.A., printmaking). 

He lives and works in the New York City area.

His work has been exhibited in group shows, in New York, North Carolina, California and Detroit, and is in several private collections

In 2024 he was selected to participate in I’ll Be Your Mirror, the Mighty Real Queer Detroit MR/QD Biennial, where his work was exhibited at the Kayrod Gallery.

An illustrated chapbook with sketchbook pages and other drawings, “Pictures and Words,” was published by STH Editions in 2017 and was featured at the Printed Matter artbook fair at the Geffen Center in Los Angeles in 2017 and at MOMA P.S.1 in New York.
